In this level, you’ll use systematic teaching strategies to help your student confidently explore single-digit addition and subtraction.

The Math-U-See Alpha Instruction Manual is ideal for instructors who already own the Integer Block Kit, have access to the instruction videos, and whose students have all the necessary student materials including the Student Workbook and Tests booklet.

Your student may be ready for Alpha if they can:

• Accurately count up to 9
• Associate a number with a given quantity of objects
• Write the numerals 0 to 9
• Follow simple directions
• Engage in a lesson with an instructor for about 15 minutes
• Work to commit addition and subtraction facts to memory
• Persevere at a task until new skills are mastered

To successfully complete the Alpha level, you will need the following components:
